The Medical and Dental Health Program is one of the development programs of Saint Joseph Academy which extends to establish and monitor the health of the school community such as: students, faculty and staff. It provides information about health issues which teachers and students may be involved in. This program also sustains health empowerment through conducting quarterly educational activities led by a guest speaker and other experts.

GOALS

  1. To provide quality medical and dental health services.
  2. To inform the school community with relevant health information.
  3. To extend health services through establishing efficient referral.
  4. To sustain an adolescent health empowerment school program.


SERVICES OFFERED

  1. Monitoring System for Students
    - Annual Physical – a periodic physical examination to be led by a school doctor, nurse, and classroom adviser is conducted annually to ensure that students are physically fit and be able to participate in academic activities at all times.
    - First Aid and Emergency Kit – school nurse and immediate teachers who are trained to administer the first aid medicines for minor ailments such as menstrual pains, headaches, fever, and LBM.
    - Periodical Oral Examination – the school dentist attends students’ dental needs which includes consultation and assessment of the examination.

  2. Health Education Awareness
    Faculty and Students Orientation – this program is regularly practiced by the school community to maintain awareness regarding health issues. An expert is invited to lecture the beneficiaries how to be holistically healthy.

  3. Extension Service
    Medical and Dental Referral – students and teachers who are seeking medical assistance and advice will have an efficient referral from the school’s doctor.

  4. Adolescent Health Empowerment Program – Saint Joseph Academy conducts quarterly education activities and invites speakers and health care providers to raise awareness on important adolescent health issues and concerns. The school also tapped Red Cross Lipa to give a seminar on the basic first aid kit which is necessary to learn by students and most especially by teachers to secure the welfare of the school community.
